New Bosch Bluetooth Auto-Start Dust Vacuum Remote

By

Bosch launched new wireless auto-start remote transmitter that works with select corded dust extractor vacuums.

The remote achieves auto-start functionality by using vibration detection to sense when the power tool is in use. There is also a large button for manual activation.

You can attach the transmitter to different tools, or the end of a vacuum hose, and use it to automatically or remotely activate your dust collector vac. The vibration sensing likely works better with the device attached directly to your tool.

Because it’s an external attachment, the remote can work with many tools from any power tool brands.

The transmitter has a single large activation button.

The full system comes with a receiver that plugs into the auxiliary auto-start port of compatible AC-powered vacuums.

Additional remotes are available separately.

Bosch VAC090AH Dust Extractor Vacuum

Bosch says that their new dust control auto-start remote is compatible with:

Bosch VAC090AH and VAC140AH dust extractors or with competitor corded dust extractors featuring an auto-start mode and a socket for the receiver to plug into.

The remote has IP54-rated protection against water and dust. Its wireless activation uses Bluetooth tech.

Milwaukee offers something similar – a universal corded dust vacuum remote – but with several key differences.

Most importantly, it doesn’t have vibration sensing. You can attach the remote to the end of a vacuum hose, or your belt.

I think that the Bosch will work well with their own dust extractor vacuums, but compatibility with other dust extractors or vacuums will depend on whether they have auxiliary activation ports and where they’re located.

Milwaukee’s system seems more widely compatible, but it has a manual remote without vibration sensing.

Neither works with cordless dust extractor vacuums.
